The Cafe Retro is Old world design-New age features. We've had two of these models. The first one worked pretty well for the first 8 months or so but after a year, we had trouble w/ the water coming through the grounds. The company was generous and sent us a new maker, which we've had for several months now. We are frustrated w/ the fact that the water doesn't seem to shoot out hard enough to get through the grounds properly. We use filtered water, as suggested, and have done everything by the book and as per suggestions from the company.
I would not buy this again.
